Book An Appointment

appointment

Thank you for choosing Callahan Eye for your eye care needs. Dr. Callahan is accepting new patients. Please call us at (703) 777-1244 to book your appointment. We participate with many major medical insurance plans, including Medicare.

Please bring the following items with you to your visit:

  • Picture I.D. (new patients only)
  • Your medical insurance card(s)
  • Any referral required by your medical insurance carrier. It is the patient’s responsibility to obtain any such referral.
  • A list of your current medications and eye drops
  • Any prescription glasses, sunglasses, and/or over the counter reading glasses you are currently using. If you wear contact lenses, put them in six hours prior to your appointment and wear them to your appointment. Please bring the most recent box your contacts came in.

Routine Appointments

Scheduled appointments are necessary. For a complete eye examination, drops to dilate your pupils are usually needed. These drops may blur your near vision and make you more sensitive to light. You may want to bring sunglasses to wear and have someone to drive you home.

Emergencies

We try to see emergencies as soon as possible. If we are unable to examine you promptly for any reason, we will direct you to a resource to find another ophthalmologist. Instructions for after-hours emergencies are stated on the office answering machine.

Referrals

If your insurance company requires any type of referral or pre-authorization, it is your responsibility to have this in the office at the time of your visit.

Payments and Billing

Unless otherwise arranged, payments for office visits are due at the time of service. If we participate with your insurance company, we will abide by their rules regarding payment, and we expect you to do the same. All appropriate co-payments are collected at the time of service. We accept cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Credit card payments are only accepted in person and not over the phone.
