Routine Appointments: Scheduled appointments are necessary. For a complete examination eye drops to dilate your pupils are usually needed. These drops may blur your near vision and make you more sensitive to light. You may want to bring sun glasses to wear and/or someone to drive you home.

Emergencies: We try to see emergencies as soon as possible. If we are unable to examine you promptly for any reason, our staff will help you find another ophthalmologist. Instructions for after hours emergencies are stated on the office answering machine.

Referrals: If your insurance company or HMO requires any type of referral or pre authorization, it is your responsibility to have this in the office at the time of your visit. If this is not done, you will be financially responsible for the examination and treatment. All co-payments are collected at the time of service.

Payments and Billing: Unless otherwise arranged, payments for office visits are due at the time of service. If we participate with your insurance company or HMO, we will abide by their rules regarding payment and we expect you to do the same. Insurance payments are generally accepted for surgeries. All appropriate co-payments are collected at the time of service.
